Fr Jaime Marquez
In 2003, the youthful Arch’t Pabs of the Single Young Adults of Santuario de San Antonio Parish was tasked to design the plans for the church building of St John Mary Vianney Parish in Cembo, Makati. It was a tremendous challenge because the lot for the parish church construction was small in size and irregular in shape.
Arch. Pabs out of his dedication and initiative researched about the life and the church built by this 17th century Patron of Priests and allowed himself to be inspired by the simplicity and beauty of the structure built by the saintly priest of Ars in France. Arch. Pabs was able to blend the surrounding area of BGC with the temperament of the growing community of the new parish in Makati The result was a marvelous work of art and love, one that inspired many of us to see the edifice as Gods love for his people. The former mayor once told me that it was one of the most beautiful churches built in Metro Manila.
